“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumph over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved? Some of what you write may be humdrum dates and places, but there will also be rich passages that will be quoted by your posterity.”

Chrismtas Day!

Christmas Day!  Another day that has great memories!  We love our traditional Johnston Family breakfast at Grandma Shadow’s (Russ’ Mom, MerryAnn).  And the Turkey Dinner at Grandpa Dale’s!  Of course, the main attraction is always the cute kids!  We travel over the river and through the woods all day Christmas but it is well worth it!

Christmas 2010!

I have to say that this is the most wonderful time of the year! I love Christmas! Christmas to me is becoming a lot more sentimental, memorable, spiritual and meaningful. It reminds me of my dear Mom; she always loved her entire family together for her “Christmas Eve PJ Party”! Now that she is looking down upon us all, it makes me try to keep the Swan Family tradition going and do it with as much love, hard work and of course enjoyment as she did.

This Christmas was great! We are a growing family so not everyone can make it, but the entire family is always in my thoughts and prayers!

I love that my Nephews and Nieces look so forward to this tradition; I hope they always remember and keep these family memories close to their hearts! What’s more important than family? I know that I have been very blessed to have such an amazing family, starting with my Mom and Dad, and of course always ending with my sweet little family! Russ, Megan and Jakob make every day a Holiday!

Enjoying each others company, great food and family always a good time!

The cousins (Tanner, Brecke, Holden, Annie, Jakob, Tyler, Megan) watching Christmas movies!

My brother George and Sister-in-law Cindy!

Terese and Paul, love my brother!

Phil trying to look tough... o.k., he is pretty tough! Dang, smile Phil! ;)

Megan opening her "White Elephant" gift, the cousins do the exchange every year!

Annie!

Brecke opening her gift, of course her toes are pointed!  She is an amazing Ballerina!

Susan, Tyler, Parker and Phil, love this family!

Megs and her sweet little dog, Miss Dayzee Mae!

Brecke and Zach!

Cutest kids, Annie and Jakob! Annie took care of Uncle George's (really Aunt Cindy's) dog Koa while they were in Hawaii.  George's family left on Christmas morning, we were lucky enough to have Koa join the party for a bit!

Lori (Paul's wife), Susan (Phil's wife) and me (Russ' wife)! :)

Playing with the dogs!

Jake and Holden playing Christmas Tic-Tac-Toe!

Christmas Morning, before the craziness (calm before the storm)!

Pretty awesome Christmas!

What a great morning, XBox and TV's!

Ready to go skiing!

That's right!!!

Merry Christmas!

The Johnston Family
Christmas Card! 2010

And the winner is...

Jakob won a contest at his school, “Name the Oak Hollow Eagle”!
His submission was: “Ace” Ace is a very skilled person, expert, adept: an Ace at tap dancing. A grade of A; the highest grade or score. To complete easily and successfully: He Aced every physical fitness test they gave him. Flying Ace!
The school called us to let us know and make sure not to tell him so he would be surprised. He was surprised alright as you can see the shock on his face! They did an Assembly with a Video of the Eagle, it was quite the honor! The Draper Paper is also going to run a story on Jake naming the school mascot. We are very proud of him, nice job Jake!
